Short, because there isn't much service to speak of. It's a web page that converts a file on your own computer.

We don't remove DRM

This is worth stating first, because it's the question people arrive with. If a book carries digital rights management, the converter detects it, tells you, and stops. It makes no attempt to decrypt anything, and it never will. That's a deliberate limit on what this tool is, not a gap waiting to be filled.

Plenty of books are sold without DRM. Standard Ebooks, Project Gutenberg, itch.io, StoryBundle and a good many publishers' own shops all sell DRM-free, and those convert normally.

Copyright is your responsibility

Only convert things you own or are otherwise entitled to copy. Format-shifting a book you paid for is usually fine. Converting a work you have no rights to and passing it around is infringement, and running it through here doesn't change that. Your file never reaches us, so we can't review what you convert or do anything about it. That makes it your call, and your responsibility.

No warranty

Free, as-is, no guarantees. Turning a reflowable book into fixed pages means making decisions the original file never contained, so the output can lose formatting, mis-set an unusual layout, or fail outright on some books. Don't let it be the only copy of anything. Keep your EPUB.

Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we're not liable for any loss that comes out of using this site, including bad conversions or lost work. The software runs on your device and we receive nothing, so we have no access to your files and can't recover them for you.

PDF and Adobe Digital Editions belong to Adobe Inc. Kindle belongs to Amazon.com, Inc., Kobo to Rakuten Kobo Inc., iPad and Apple Books to Apple Inc. We're not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of them. This site reads standard EPUB files and writes standard PDF files, which their software happens to open.
